I have learned so much in 2016, book smarts and street smarts included.
So, with that being said, here are 50 things I learned in 2016--
- Don't be afraid of change, embrace it.
- Success doesn't come without hard work.
- Give 110% into everything you do.
- Do not be afraid of voicing your opinion!
- Cry whenever you feel like it.
- It is so so important to pay attention to your own happiness and health.
- Who cares what other people think of you.
- Spend as much time as you can with your parents.
- Splurge on yourself once in a while.
- Saturdays are for the girls (;
- Roll down the windows and sing as loud as you can.
- Online shopping is the best therapy.
- Postmates are a gift sent from heaven.
- Put yourself out there as much as possible.
- Take personal days.
- Prepare for the worst.
- Tell the truth.
- Cousins make the absolute best friends.
- Set goals.
- Try out new restaurants and shops often.
- Do things that scare you.
- Eye contact and a nice introduction does go a long way.
- Be engaged when you're talking to somebody.
- Learn as much as you can!
- Judging others does you absolutely no good.
- Forgive, but don't forget.
- Make the best of every situation.
- Just because your friends don't invite you to something, doesn't mean they don't like you.
- Get as close as you can at every concert.
- Take hot baths.
- Let people you care about know how much you appreciate them on a regular basis.
- A snapchat streak is not a friendship.
- A high school break up is not the end of your life.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help.
- Don't go to bed mad at someone.
- It's okay to say "I'm sorry, I'm too busy."
- Go get a second serving of that cake.
- Live in the moment.
- People have different opinions, accept that.
- Stretch on the daily.
- Memorize the directions to your best friends house, the grocery store, and the nearest Coffee Bean.
- Not everybody is going to like you.
- Nobody can define who you are but yourself!
- Remember little details about your friends.
- Keep an organized agenda and to-do list.
- Mind your Ps and Qs.
- Learn how to accept compliments.
- Find what you are passionate about.
- Remember: this is just high school. Don't take things too seriously.
- Have as much fun as you possibly can!
